I'm a full stack web developer with 5 years of commercial experience building and maintaining e-commerce sites at an agency where downtime cost real money. While there, the bulk of my day-to-day was in WordPress and PHP, although a significant part of the work also entailed JavaScript frameworks, namely Remix and React with TypeScript.

Over the years I've owned several projects end-to-end, which taught me that a sensible design grounded in the user's real problem usually beats a smart solution that you have to explain. When possible I like to share the lessons I pick up here on my blog.

In my free time, I like to use my skills for less serious purposes, automating repetitive tasks and building the occasional dashboard. Right now I'm pretty into surfing, learning game development with raylib, and chess.
